Assistant Game Story Writer

Position Summary:

Pig Fly Games is seeking an Assistant Game Story Writer that will work under the direction of the Narrative Lead and be responsible for owning and evangelizing the vision for the story. This Junior entry level role will primarily involve writing scenes, dialogue, and prose for an upcoming Pig Fly Games title.  The Assistant Game Story Writer will also be assisting in recording sessions and voice direction.

Essential Duties:

• Learn to write dialogue and cinematic scenes with the established style of the project.
• Learn to write story treatments, character and world guides, casting documents, and other supporting narrative content.
• Assist in recording sessions and management of scripts.
• Assist in development of stories with dramatic arcs.
• Conceive story arcs that are tied to game play goals.
• Create narrative that supports game play mechanics.

• Interest in classic story structure and the dramatic form.
• Communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to process and react to feedback from multiple sources.
• Ability to evaluate and emulate the themes and tone of an existing intellectual property while still making it your own.
• Interest in narrative for games and interactive experiences.

Nice to Haves:

• Interest in how to combine narrative elements and game design to encourage player investment.
